Aircon Chemical Wash Service in Singapore

Assessment Before Recommendation
We assess your aircon’s condition before recommending chemical washing.
No Unnecessary Chemical Washing
If normal servicing is sufficient, we’ll recommend the more appropriate service.
Proper Chemical Cleaning & Rinsing
When chemical wash is required, treated components are cleaned and thoroughly rinsed.
What Is An Aircon Chemical Wash?
Signs You May Need an Aircon Chemical Wash
The following symptoms may indicate that your aircon requires closer inspection and potentially deeper cleaning. However, these signs do not automatically mean a chemical wash is necessary, as similar problems can have other causes.
Weak Cooling After Regular Servicing
If your aircon still takes longer than usual to cool the room after routine servicing, accumulated dirt around the evaporator coil or other internal components may require deeper cleaning.
Reduced Or Uneven Airflow
Heavy dirt and residue around the evaporator coil, blower or surrounding components may restrict airflow from the indoor unit.
Persistent Musty Odours
Unpleasant or musty smells that repeatedly return after normal cleaning may indicate accumulated dirt, moisture or residue within internal areas requiring more thorough attention.
Water Leaking From The Indoor Unit
Dirt and build-up within the drainage tray or drainage pipe may restrict water flow and contribute to leakage. The unit should be inspected to determine the cause before deciding on the appropriate cleaning method.
Visible Dirt Or Build-Up
Heavy dirt, grime or residue around the evaporator coil, fins or other internal areas can indicate that routine servicing may no longer provide sufficient cleaning.
Does Your Aircon Actually Need A Chemical Wash?
Not every aircon problem requires the same level of cleaning. The appropriate service depends on the condition of the unit, how much dirt has accumulated and whether normal servicing can adequately address it.
Normal Aircon Servicing May Be Enough
Routine servicing is generally suitable for regularly maintained aircon units with manageable dust and dirt accumulation.
If the aircon is functioning normally and does not have significant internal build-up, there may be no reason to carry out chemical treatment.
Aircon Chemical Wash May Be Needed
Chemical washing may be suitable when heavier dirt, grime or residue has accumulated within relevant internal components and ordinary servicing can no longer clean the affected areas adequately.
The purpose is to provide deeper cleaning where it is genuinely required rather than treating chemical washing as a routine add-on.
Aircon Chemical Overhaul May Be Needed
A chemical overhaul may be considered when the fan coil unit is severely clogged or contaminated and requires more extensive dismantling to clean individual internal components thoroughly.
We recommend the level of cleaning according to your aircon’s actual condition — not simply the most intensive service available.
When Chemical Wash Is Needed, It Can Help With:
Remove Stubborn Internal Dirt and Residue
Improve Airflow Affected by Heavy Build-Up
Support Better Cooling Performance Where Dirt Is Contributing to the Issue
Address Recurring Musty Odours Caused by Accumulated Dirt/Residue
Clean Affected Drainage Areas
How We Do Our Aircon Chemical Wash

Step 1: Remove Aircon Components
Our technician removes the aircon cover, water tray and blower to provide better access to the evaporator coil and other areas that require cleaning.
The removed components are set aside for separate cleaning during the chemical wash process.

Step 2: Protect Electrical Components & Work Area
Before washing begins, the PCB and fan motor are carefully covered to help protect them from water exposure.
A cleaning umbrella or wash bag is then set up around the fan coil unit to collect water, chemical solution and dirt during the cleaning process.

Step 3: Apply Chemical To The Coil
A suitable chemical cleaning solution is sprayed onto the evaporator coil to loosen accumulated dirt, dust and grime within the fins.
The loosened chemical solution and dirt are then vacuumed from the coil and fin area before water cleaning begins.

Step 4: Water Jet Cleaning & Excess Water Removal
The evaporator coil is thoroughly cleaned using a water jet to flush out loosened dirt and remaining chemical residue.
After rinsing, excess water is vacuumed from the coil to remove remaining moisture and collected debris.

Step 5: Clean Blower, Tray, Filters & Cover
The removed blower and water tray are chemically cleaned to remove accumulated dirt and residue.
The aircon filters and outer cover are also washed and cleaned before all components are prepared for reinstallation.

Step 6: Vacuum Drain Pipe & Reassemble
The aircon drainage pipe is vacuumed to help clear accumulated dirt and debris that may restrict water flow.
Once the cleaning process is completed, the cleaned components are reinstalled and the aircon is checked before the service is completed.

Why Proper Aircon Chemical Washing Matters
Chemical Wash Should Not Be Overdone
Chemical wash is a deeper cleaning treatment and should be carried out when the condition of the aircon genuinely requires it. More frequent chemical treatment does not automatically mean better aircon maintenance. Unnecessary repeated treatment can expose delicate coil surfaces to chemicals more often than required, which is why TrueClean does not treat chemical washing as a compulsory add-on during every servicing appointment.
Routine servicing should remain the appropriate maintenance option when deeper chemical cleaning is unnecessary.
Thorough Rinsing Is Important
Applying chemical is only one part of a proper aircon chemical wash. After the cleaning solution has loosened dirt and residue, treated components should be thoroughly rinsed so both the loosened contamination and unnecessary chemical residue are removed.
Careful rinsing is particularly important around components such as the evaporator coil and cooling fins.
The Right Treatment For The Right Condition
The objective of chemical washing is not to use as much chemical as possible. It is to achieve the level of cleaning required while handling the affected aircon components appropriately.
Our technicians assess the condition of the unit before determining the suitable cleaning approach.

Frequently Asked Questions
What Is an Aircon Chemical Wash?
An aircon chemical wash is a deeper cleaning service that uses suitable cleaning solutions and methods to remove accumulated dirt, grime, mould, and residue from key internal components. It may be recommended when routine servicing is no longer sufficient to clean the unit thoroughly.
How Is an Aircon Chemical Wash Different From General Aircon Servicing?
General aircon servicing is mainly intended for routine cleaning and maintenance, while a chemical wash provides a deeper level of cleaning for units affected by heavier buildup.
An aircon chemical wash may involve more thorough attention to areas such as:
- Evaporator coil
- Cooling fins
- Drainage tray
- Blower area
- Other accessible internal components
The suitable service depends on the actual condition of the aircon.
When Should I Consider an Aircon Chemical Wash in Singapore?
You may consider an aircon chemical wash if your unit shows signs such as:
- Weak cooling despite recent servicing
- Reduced or uneven airflow
- Persistent musty odours
- Recurring water leakage
- Visible dirt or buildup inside the unit
An assessment can help determine whether a chemical wash is suitable or whether another service is required.
How Often Should I Chemical Wash My Aircon In Singapore?
There is no fixed chemical wash interval suitable for every aircon.
The appropriate cleaning requirement depends on factors such as aircon usage, maintenance history, surrounding environment and the amount of internal dirt that has accumulated. Chemical washing should therefore be based on the actual condition of the unit.
Is Aircon Chemical Wash Safe for My Aircon Unit?
An aircon chemical wash should be carried out using cleaning methods suitable for the aircon type and condition. Our technicians assess the unit before proceeding and carry out the cleaning according to the relevant service scope.
